Visit the party websites and look for their official stances on education. Also, look for what particular MPs in each party have said on the issue.

The education system is designed to fail a certain percentage, because there aren't enough well paid jobs to go around. This is a fact, but few will admit it. I used to teach, but I don't any longer. It was a nightmare...and only so because the government has implemented policies for it to be that way. One big difference between Tory and Labour, is that Blair and co abolished section 28. This in my opinion was a big mistake, because children shouldn't be encouraged towards homosexuality. New Labour scrapped many good grammar schools. But the Tories introduced the National curriculum. This has been amended so many times, because it was largely impractical. Too many tests and targets. But woefully New Labour has followed this route, to what I believe is a very bad and dangerous degree. Education should be more than this.. Must stop. Good luck.

Why don't you write on something controversal. For instance, Conservatives are for Private Schools and School Voucers.
Think ouside the box and forget about being polictically correct.
Try telling it like it is. For instance, many students don't want to be taught and are unruley and their main goal is to become a member of a gang, drive a nice car, attract the opposite sex and have power and respect from that level of people.
How do we handle that and should these type students be put into a separate school for totally expelled from school.
Conservatives would say yes because it is a waste of taxpayer dollars to provide real schools for students that don't care.

Conservatives are impossible to read on the issue as under their last governance they all but abolished the married couples allowance. New Labour are quite progressive but took the multicultural tourist town that is the UK to war against itself. If bankers and billionaire tax avoiders (unless they decide to stand for a European seat) are 'family' then their is no difference between the parties what-so-ever.

See if you can get hold of an OU study guide (you get one at the beginning of every course), it has a brilliant section on essay writing in general. Beyond that i don't know the first thing of education policies. Oops.

You'll struggle to find a real difference. New labour is bog standard old Tory. There's more Mrs T in Tony Blair than he would wish.

Conservatives are still working out their policies on everything - including education. Suggest that you ask to be set a more sensible question.

If you can't even start an essay on this topic, then the education system has truly failed. (Especaily with the internet at your disposal, which no previous generation had while at school. We had to use libraries and BOOKS to research essays. Remember them?)

Go to conservative and labour websites using search engines. Then analyse key points on both policies. Make your observations on those key points.

Peform a Yahoo! Search on both topics, check what main points each one states and make a comparative chart.
