Only if the accident was created by the employers equipment.
For instance the computer the employer provided caught fire and employee was burned putting out fire.
Any other accidents are associated with the home itself and the employee should have homeowners insurance to cover such accidents.

I can see in cases such as privacy issues, yes, the employer should be responsible. This would be true no matter where the location of the work is preformed. As far as the actual environment they are working in, in their home, that should be their individual responsibility. Your home is your personal choice.

No. Anything beyond the employer's control they should not be responsible for. The work premesis is able to be inspected and controlled for safety, but unless your home is regularly inspected and monitored, it is the employee's responsibility for safety.

I work from home and cannot think of one single "safety" issue that I could contribute to my employer, other than boring me to sleep and banging my head on the desk from time to time.
If I stand up from my desk and fall down this is not an employer issue it's a me issue because it's my home.

No, they should not. Employers employ employees because their work is needed. Off of the working grounds, employers are another person.

No! They don't control your environment. If you trip and fall over a roller skate left in your foyer, fall down, and break your hip - how would it be their fault? If you're worried, don't work from home.
