I'm sorry but for all they hype, averaging less than 10 points a game isn't all that impressive, he obviously wasn't ready for the NBA game and being his third year he's seeming to get worse. Gerald Green has a brighter future on this team.

Uhm...I don't think he'll ever be a stud player...I'm from portland and we were happy to be rid of him. He's quick and has a great crossover, but the guy can't shoot and he can't defend. IF he could ever start nailing a jump shot and learn how not to turn the ball over then, yes...He's VERY young and has a long time to improve...we'll know better in 5-6 years.

In all honesty, I feel that he may have hit his ceiling (based on his current role with the Boston Celtics). It would be very difficult right now for him to produce any significant numbers as he was already given an opportunity as a starter but hasn't lived up to the expectations of being traded for the seventh pick in this year's NBA draft (which turned out to be Randy Foye and eventually the T-Wolves selection Brandon Roy after a trade involving the two aforementioned players).

Despite not being healthy, Delonte West has stepped up his game; Tony Allen has come from nowhere and made the most of his opportunity with Paul Pierce being out of action due to a stress reaction in his foot; rookie Rajon Rondo has also done more statistically than Telfair despite his few minutes.

These three players, plus a healthy Paul Pierce and Wally Szczerbiak, would really keep Sebastian Telfair out of the mix.

Hope this helps.

Sometimes players don't find the right rit until later in their careers. Chauncey Billups was fairly useless as a Celtic, but he eventually wound up on a rising Detroit squad and is now an All-Star caliber player. That said, Telfair has never seemed like a good team player, and his selfish and uninspiring play is part of the reason Boston can't win without Pierce.

I agree Green is a much more exciting prospect right now.

i think of Childress isn't any bust through any skill. he's a mind-blowing place participant interior the Hawks rotation. He can play. Sebastian Telfair meanwhile, has been given sufficient possibility to reveal off his expertise. He grew to become into like this phenom, the destiny all famous individual factor look after, and so on. little doubt he's the cousin of Stephon "Starbury" Marbury. He can not play. Marbury is better than him. in the previous, i think in Telfair, yet possibility in Portland, Boston, and the Timberwolves, he only could no longer play despite if he's commencing. i do no longer understand his possibilities approximately being a back up factor look after however. ..or maybe third string factor look after. he's a bust through any skill. the biggest bust however could in all probability be Kwame Brown. Lakers have been so extreme on him even procuring and merchandising Caron Butler for him. think of Caron with the Lakers? Oh. Come on.

Too early to really say he'll never be a good NBA player- he kind of already is, but will he ever live up to the hype- no, hes already failed in that respect. However, if he falls into the perfect situation and matures some you never know he could still excel

Telfair came with lots of fanfare from his high school career and being related to Stephon Marbury, but the fact is he's too small, and his ball handling skills he'll never be more than a competent back-up.

If he would have gone to college and developed his game a little more he might be one now, but unless you are a Kobe, Lebron, or Kevin Garnett, it's gonna take at least a couple years before High schoolers can make an impact.

he needs a little more time, but so far he handles the ball like Tim Hardaway and passes like Chris Duhon, which isnt all that bad of a comparison. he has to work on his shooting a bit, but in due time, i'll think he'll be a good NBA player.

Hes got a bright future still, but you're right I think it gets dimmer by the day, Remember this kid could still be in college right now, maybe he made a mistake in coming out early but he could stil be good
