wma is smaller and also better then mp3. Because at same size, wma has better quality then mp3. And at same quality, wma is smaller then mp3. Try downloading a converter from www.xilisoft.com. MP3 can be played with maximum music device but now days wma can also be played with most music player. wma supports better surround sound quality such as 5:1. Have a nice day. I can store more wma files on my music player than mp3 files. I have heard that the quality is lower on the wma but on a prtable music player it is hard to tell the difference

it depends on the bit rate or sound quality.. if u want the best for ur walkman or ipod i suggest using wma cuz it uses high quality at the same size with mp3 as a result wma is smaller than mp3 but u wouldnt notice
*i tested both types on high quality headphone and 2.1 speakers by using adobe audition 1.5 my result that wma @ low bit rate is much better than mp3 but people use mp3 cuz its widly common

considering that 2 files are same quality - the size will be about the same.
Difference - mp3 will work almost anywhere with any music software or/and hardware. WMA is windows media audio format, so it will only work with windows OS based players like Windows Media ... and some 3rd party software like VLC media player, but not much.
bottom line - go with mp3!

it is dependant on the sample rate and it is possible to have a smaller wma, than the equivalent mp3
however, many mp3 have a low sample rate and are therefore smaller than the equivalent wma file

The size of the file is dependent on the length of the song, of course, and the quality or bitrate that it is.

well it depends...if its a normal size file then an MP3 is better but if its a large file i would go for a wma

they are same size, but wma only works for windows media players so you cant use with other programs sometiems while mp3 is universal

now all files are the same size , it is like asking how long is a peice of string , it depends how much you put in it, , if you had two word docs , they would be the same type of file , but if one had more text than the other it would be bigger, so i would they would be the same empty, as when they have any thing in them well that dependes on the content
