You should test again. Just because the temps are elevated doesn't mean you're pregnant. If you get another negative HPT then you should see your doctor and have a blood test done. Not all women get positive HPTs when they are pregnant. Better to be on the safe side and get a blood test. Good Luck!

I agree with jachooz, that book is wonderful and helps you get to know your body, I am not ready yet for kids, but I still use the method, I know when I ovulate every single month and I know exactly when I will start my period, which is great for social planning issues. If you go to www.tcoyf.com you can download a trial of the charting software. It will give you an overview of how the method works. To answer your question according to the book eighteen days of elevated basal temps is an indication of pregnancy. It may just be that you didn't ovulate and had a freakishly long cycle, it can happen if your under alot of stress. good luck ttc

This is my standard answer......... go get a book called Taking Charge of your fertility by Toni Weschler
This book will help you with all of your menstrual and conception questions. It’s for all women - not just women trying to conceive. It covers everything from temperature to mucus checking, etc.. It will help you understand your body and all the myths about it. It will help you time when you are ovulating and the best times to conceive – or not! It tells you how to figure out your cycle and what to expect. My husband and I tried for a year to conceive and nothing happened. The first month I used the book we conceived right away. Now I am due Feb 2. It's about knowing your body and knowing when you are fertile or not. You can pick and choose what you do with your info. Good luck and don't listen the all the myths!
