No. You would have to sail from Portsmouth. I used to live in Gosport and work in Portsmouth. I had to catch the ferry across to work every morning. We always had to dodge the Portsmouth - Cherbourg ferry, so that's how I know.

no portsmouth to cherbourg but not southampton and dover as well

No you would need to go from Portsmouth or Poole
