Now that you know you have the power of an analytical mind learn to direct it, pick your battles and forget the rest. Concentrate this power on something that will bring you success and happiness. As for the rest...forget it....When you find yourself in the analytical mode stop yourself by taking a deep breath and saying.."let it go"...Let it go"...If you keep doing this soon it will become an automatic thought stopper for you. Good luck!

Since I've been over analyzing things for years and have recently toned it down, I feel I may be of some assistance in your quest for understanding. First of all, you must realize that every question, statement, vocal tone, body language gesture, or even silent vibes can be perceived in many ways. If you focus on only the positive perception of these verbal and non verbal communication channels you'll not only feel better about yourself, but you'll make others happy as well.

As far as things happening to you causing an endless movie like drama within your head, try doing productive things to immediately get your mind off of whats occupying your thoughts. Even in this situation, if you make a point to "know" regardless if its true or not, that things absolutely will end up as you desire and maintain a postive outlook, you'll eventually reframe your way of thinking. With practice, this new outlook on things can become second nature to ya. Good luck

I do the same thing. I'll catch myself thinking about a conversation long after it's over and the people I have conversed with have forgotten about it and moved on to something else. Maybe it's a good thing, you know? Maybe the next time that subject comes up, you will have found the answer, another angle, or different perspective that the others never thought about. And you will be the genius! Lol! I think being analytical can't hurt too much, unless you really obsess on one certain thing. Think about it. You're THINKING-- using your brain. A lot of people don't do that anymore, lol. So what could possibly be wrong with that?

Congratulations, you have found the key! If you could not analyse rationally, then you would not have asked this question!
Analysis, into the nitty gritty, is a very good trait. With time you will get better at it, quicker, you will learn how to combine, but this will only do you good if you want to do something honest..or stop something dishonest LOL !
Those who misuse talents like this, end up burned out and at the bottom!

Good luck, carry on. If you are interested in chatting then pls send me a mail!

Maybe you can't stop. Maybe it's just how you are. I have an analytical mind and I can't shut it off! That doesn't mean I'm a pessimist, but I can't just accept things because other people believe it. I have to investigate and question until I come to an answer that feels right for me. I always have to look beneath the surface in everything. I can't just accept things at face value.
There is nothing wrong with being analytical, as long as you aren't doing it BECAUSE you are a pessimist and want only to find the negative in everything. Just look for answers that feel right to you.

There's no need to stop analyzing things, it's great to look into the deeper meanings of things.

Learn to love yourself rather than doubting or not trusting in yourself or others. I am similar in that I am too negative or am so analytical that it stops me from being spontaneous.

By accepting things.

That is the one thing that will make you stop this futile analysis of your life and things which happen around you.

By just accepting, and accepting that you do not need answers and just dealing with each situation as it comes.

Bad things happen, that is just the way it is.

you can't stop- its part of your personality. I have the same problem. You can control it by recognizing when you're reading into something too much and stopping right there without continuing to analyze.
