Using just one shad eis very in right now, and using the lightest one will totally open up your eyes. I would try that, and just use one coat of mascara if you like. It will look great for school!

Three shades is usually for going out, not for everyday use. Don't be persuaded by what magazines say about putting the lightest shade on the lids, medium shade in the corners etc. I've only ever used three colours of Barry M once when I went to a party (I'm 13 too) and it looks really nice if you're going out but the lightest shade of a set of colour looks good too and it's not overdone!! Don't worry - it's perfectly fine and you could try experimenting later!
And also, about what the others have said about not wearing eyeshadow. I think wearing eyeshadow at 13 is perfectly OK if it's a neutral colour and wearing the odd blue shades when going out it OK too - it doesn't look sluttish at all - infact lipstick at the age of 13 is probably worse! Lipgloss may be...
Good luck!

Well that depends on you and your complexion. A dark complexion and the lightest shade of shadow wouldn't be your best bet. But if its comfortable for you then go ahead! The lightest shade would highlight areas such as your brow bone and eyelids, to bring out your eyes. But for more make-up tips for "beginners'', look at Sephora.com or Bobbibrowncosmetics.com and look under 'Looks and Tips'.

That's perfectly fine. And you are right to not want too much. I see way to many people... of any age, that wear way too much eye make up. It is a fine line between Hollywood actress beutiful and Hollywood blvd. hooker. When in doubt opt for the less is more theory. I use three colors but one is just a neutral to smooth the area under my brow, the next is a soft pinkish brown on my lid and then a small amount of brown blended across my lower lid. I really like just a simply pink and a great black mascara.

Absolutely. Single lighter shades are very in right now. Also, triple shades should only be worn for a more glamerous or exotic look in the evening and probably when you are much older. Celebrate and enjoy your age!

That's great! I always like to use a natural/light shade on my whole lid because it still makes a difference. You should start experimenting with colors around 16 or so, when you start getting ready to attend dances, proms, etc.

Yes it is complelty fine to use just one shade, but i would say go with the middle shade not the lighter shade, it will look better.

1 shade is fine for an everyday look, use a light to medium tone nothing too dark.
