I haven't tried the cornmeal that Tigger suggests, but I agree that baking soda works very well as an exfoliant. My suggestion is to get a mild facial cleanser (I use Cetaphil, but there are others that should work well), mix a small amount of it with the baking soda and use it as a scrub.

I hope you find something that works for you! Good luck!

Baking soda mixed with your regular cleanser is the best. I've been using it for years and it's better than the most expensive brands I bought. Just be sure to massage it gently into your skin and not rub too hard. You don't want to irritate your skin. I do this a couple times a week. I also use it weekly with my regular shampoo to remove build-up of styling products and my hair gets squeaky clean. Happy New Year.

To make a wonderfully effective home-made face scrub, grind together 2 or 3 almonds with a teaspoon of lemon juice and a teaspoon of honey. Apply on face as a scrub to exfoliate dead skin.

Another excellent scrub that I strongly recommend is to combine one tablespoon of ground walnuts and almonds with 2 teaspoons of honey and a quarter cup of cornmeal. Blend this well and apply to remove dead skin.

Baking soda, blended with a little water and applied gently on a cleansed face makes for an excellent freshening scrub.

Mix lemon juice with oatmeal or baking soda. Its the best. It cleans the rough dry skin from your face and also makes the face shine and soft. It is all natural.

I just tried mixing baking soda with Cetaphil, make a paste, rub into face and rinse. It gives a gentle grit. Heard it on TV.

this probably isn't exactly what you're looking for, but a year or two ago when I had really bad acne my grandmother told me that putting a small drop of natural honey on a skin blemish and put a band-aid on it. It's supposed to kill bacteria, keep the skin sterile, and speed healing. It worked for me pretty well.
