Hi, my cousin introduced me to this game, she calls it "wild card rummy".... I have looked everywhere and can't find the rules. Each player is dealt the first card face up and that is the number of cards they receive.( if you were dealt a four.. you would get four cards to start the game, and so on.) When the dealer turns his/her first card face up to see how many cards they will play with that card also becomes a wild card. At the end , the winner gets all the cards left in everyone elses hand and counts them as their points...... Any ideas????

You can get a shareware Rummy game set from Special K software which includes a game labeled as Wild Card Rummy. For a free download, you might get the game you're looking for.

I can't say I've ever heard of the game but if it is a rummy variant then I'm not surprised. I would assume that it is played as a basic rummy (draw, meld, discard) after determining the number of cards in each hand (which is an interesting feature to say the least). There are plenty of basic rummy variants that use at least one wild card (normally the joker). The best way to play would be as basic rummy but played over a set number of rounds (or perhaps before play deal a card randomly and make that the number of rounds to play, keeping with the style of the game) so everyone gets a fair shot of getting an ace and thus just one card. Sounds like a lot of fun all you have to remember is that card games are such fun because the rules are not written in stone. Make up your own. Have fun!
