Not necessarily, but then I would not necessarily be unhappy, either. In any case, that seems to be my destiny. My 60th birthday is up this spring, and I am retired. There's not much of anywhere for money to come from now, aside from selling off a few collectibles and using up my tiny IRA while waiting for Social Security to kick in. and that, as I am sure you know, is scarcely enough to live on.
Who knows, maybe I'll be put on disability and get food stamps and Medi-Cal.
But the question was about happinesss, and my happines does not depend on more money than it takes to pay the rent and utilities, and buy food. Do the laundry once in awhile, maybe even buy a new article of clothing once in awhile.
Used books are cheap, thank goodness!

I think so, if it means I can keep all the pocessions I have now/ How poor are we talking? Our families had a bit of a rough patch right now, and it sucks knowing you can't afford certain things, but it seems like its just a state of mind, because we aren't really missing out on much. I think it would really suck, but if your with the ones you love, and have some form of entertainment, good health, a bath or shower, a warm bed and some food, what else could you possibly need?

I could be. Money doesn't solve poor planning, bad social skills, money management, etc. With the smallest amount of money you can have everything you need, if what you need is also small. And we don't really need anything. believe it or not, you could exist without this thing called money.
so yeah. I'll probably be poor. And I'll be happy sometimes. And not happy at other times.

If I started out in this life "poor" then I guess I wouldn't know any different. While I do enjoy the finer things in life, I certainly do ALWAYS remember that are less fortunate. Always.

Good sound true relationships are more important. With money it can be difficult to tell who is faking. They may have just been loving your money the whole time. If you are poor you will know who your true friends are. Man does not live by bread alone.

Yes, I would. It's much more important to be poor on the outside and rich in the heart, in the soul, because money is meaningless.

If I was surrounded by the people I love. I've already been poor and I came out okay. It's all about the relationships you form not your bank account balance.

Yes I would because money can't buy happiness. It does ease the pain for a little while but not forever. BUT I wouldn't know that because I have never had a lot of money! lol
