probably because it is trying to download the virus or spyware that is typically attached to downloaded porn. That is how they make money by screwing up your computer and hacking your system. The windows media player is just an open door for them to get in. Very high security vulnerability there.

When the built-in media player doesn't work, use VLC.

You can get it for free here: http://bit.ly/1v824YN

It's my favourite media player and I highly recommend it over any other audio/video player.

VLC (video lan connect) is a great open source software to play any types of video files. VLC has a built in dvd decodere and works with many different video and audio formats including OGG, MP2, MP3, MP4, DivX, HD codecs like AES3, Raw Dirac.

Many sites try to infect your system by hiding spyware/trojans in the codecs or license files they try to download.

Microsoft has closed off some of these points of infection for people who do windows update on a regular basis.

It's possible you're missing a codec for the file format used or the site is attempting to download spyware that your system is blocking from damaging your system.

It is an attempt to deposit a joiner file onto your computer. Not a good thing. DL Real Player and you won't have those problems. Also make it your Universal Player.

I think that's a nod to the people who insist on licensing on the web. Download E-mule and use the search function to find videos and stuff. If they are black instead of blue and over say 5 MB's, they are usually watchable.

It's not a codec or spyware, it's licensing.

You can also go to http://www.richardsrealm.com/movpages

etc... there are little movies all over the place.

WMP seems to have that problem. If the video no longer exists on a site this will also happen. Do yourself a favor. Go to the video store. All these porno websites are full of viruses and spam anyway. Quicktime vids are the best for freebes.

The video requires license to be viewed. This is used by DRM technology - Digital Rights Mgmt.
