Well I think they shouldnt have hanged him. He should have just rot wherever they had him. Everyone was saying he was not in the least bit remorseful and I think he should have thought about what he did more otherwise killing him is just pointless. For what he did it was a better justice to keep him alive. He could die a thousand times and not make any of the families and people he hurt feel better.

I feel the execution was just, but it was carried out on one the holiest days according to the Muslim faith. That would be like hanging a major figure in the USA on Christmas or Easter. I think the timing of the execution was insensitive, and the execution should have been postponed.

I don't think so, athough he did a lot of terrible things with his country, other countries and his citizens but in the end of his life he's a sick old man, that's his punishment. And his death by hanging or other ways don't make any people happier or something like that, so it isn't nice or bad for him.

There is no punishment that could fit the crimes. To even attempt to exact some revenge to level the playing field would not only be impossible, it would degrade the punishers to a level that is simply foolish and unnecessary. I'm not sure I believe in capital punishment anymore, but i think anything that could bring this chapter in world history to a close in the quickest manner is the best thing.

I think it was suitable or even a fireing squad. However My ex-roommate had a slightly more creative way to eliminate him.

Hang him with Piano wire so it cuts though the neck and removes the head, as his body falls riddle it with bullets and let the body fall in to the same Plastics shredder he used to put his prisoners in.

Now I admit I Have a lot of ideas about punishment but his was very interesting.

You have to think of the political implications of any punishment. This was enough: get it over with as quickly as possible and try to move on. Otherwise, you only open yourself up to further problems.

Too nice, no not really. I think it did far more than kill him, I guarantee it boke him mentally being on trial then being hung when he felt he was still the leader of Iraq

Death is the harshest judgment civilized humans are willing to mete out.

I assume an even harsher judgment awaits him now.

It was quick, it was efficient, it is over and done with. That is one more item off the "to do" list of the Iraqi government. It got done and that is all that mattered.
