the reason pools are generally kept at a 'cool' temperature is because when you swim (like with any aerobic exercize), your heart rate increases, your body heats up, and starts to sweat in an attempt to cool itself.

unlike other exercizes (such as running or biking), your body cannot sufficiently cool itself by sweating when it is surrounded by moisture. therefore, the water temperature is set to keep your body from over heating.

it's the same reason hot tubs have signs that say you shouldn't stay in too long, be pregnant, etc. if you swim/exercize in a pool with a water temperature of, say 90 f or so, you will feel the affects of the warm water on your core temperature. serious swimmers would experience near heart attacks if they were forced to train in water so warm.

which kind of pool ur talking about....like if it was an indoor pool it would probably bcuz it isn't very cold, it's probably pretty warm but not as warm as ur body so wen u get into the pool ur body is warmer than the water causing u to feel cold. But as u move around ur body and the water gets to be around the same lvl so ...then ur warm! If it was an outdoor pool...my guess is either the water is really cold or itz cuz the wind's blowing at 'cha

The pool is usually colder than your body temperature, so it feels cold when you get in. Then when you start moving around I think it gets warmer because your heart rate goes up making your blood circulate better and faster which keeps you warm. I think it's something like that.

1) because your body is not yet adjusted to the temperature of the pool.
2) because it is such a large body of water, that it takes a long time to heat up, which is why it is warmer in the shallow section and colder in the deep.

Because the water has a heater but the water doesn't so when you first get in, it is cold but if you start moving, your body will adjust to the cold water
