oh **** hang on tight....... universes spin out of control all the time.... well mine has... but you know every single time I have known my universe is crashing and burning..... it actually didnt....
I woke up one morning after having that feeling.... and looked around and the sun was shining again... I was still alive... and life was marching right on.....
the feeling that your universe is crashing is just that.... A FEELING...
honestly one of the toughest lessons I have had to learn is that a feeling is just a feeling... it is something I feel, it can be accompanied by mental thoughts... it can even be accompanied by some physical signs and symptoms such as dry skin, hot flushes, sweaty palms, heart palpitations, shivering, all kinds of things...... but the feeling is just a feeling....
this feeling is just like happiness, joy, and contentment sooner or later it will pass.....
try not to focus on your feelings... focus on the facts... no matter how terrible the facts seem they are safer than feelings...
no mater what the bad things are that are happening around you and to you focussing on the feelings will not help... focus on what things you do have control over and which things you can change... and start to plan and follow through on that plan to change what can be changed.... and as for all those things you cant change just accept them.....
Life will be full of challenges... so just remember you can ride this through...

You pick yourself of the floor, dust yourself off and say:
OK From this moment on I can change my thinking.
From this moment on I can do one thing that will give me joy.
You start with the smallest thought which will give you a few minutes of joy.
You keep doing it.
I know little of psychology, today most of the psychologist do not listen much to you just hand you over a few pills.
Forget it, everything starts with your thinking.
Good luck. Good thoughts are there for you.

I pretty much pull into myself and am quiet and uncommunicative with others until I get things sorted out. I tend to pull my kids close and stick together with them until I feel comfortable that everything will be all right again.
I think that the answer given above by Celery___ is good advice.

You do your best to save whatever you can, and then you hunker down and wait for the crashing in to stop.
You then check out the damage. See what can be fixed. Get up and start rebuilding.

First, make sure you eat properly and give yourself adequate time to sleep. Then, see a therapist; failing that, find a constructive outlet for your self-hatred (a daily trip to a gym usually works pretty well).

1. start seeing a therapist
2. write everything you feel in a journal
3. turn to things like exercise to make you feel good about yourself
4. know that just as things can feel like they only get worse, they can get better. you are in charge of yourself and your life and you deserve to enjoy it. get help making positive choices and just remember that everything WILL be ok.
