You must have Windows for my answer to be useful. If you have Mac, consider migrating to Windows. You should make sure you have two video cards, then get an extra monitor. Plug them in, and you're done.

If you don't want to go shopping, open the two windows you want to see side-by-side, right-click the taskbar, and choose TILE WINDOWS VERTICALLY or TILE WINDOWS HORIZONTALLY.

You need a NVIDIA FX 5200 128MB Dual Head Video Card and a second monitor.

you need any type of video adapter that utilizes output to dual monitors...
