If you are thinking of disposing of your old computer first think security, for there are quite a few unscrupulous people out there who would love to gain access to your bank detail's, passwords, and other sensitive information that you would rather remain secret.
formatting the hard drive is not enough these days to destroy personal details that are left on your hard drive, so if I were you, I would buy a software program to overwrite the hard drive so no information is passed on to villains for fraudulent use, for you don't want someone obtaining credit in your name and running up a huge amount of debt, because guess who would have to pay for it in the end ? thats right you.
there is another way, and that is to destroy the hard drive so it can never be used in a computer ever again. once you have done this you can either sell the computer on ebay or take your old computer to the rubbish dump.
good luck and safe computing

A motor vehicle is only as secure with the aid of fact the guy using it. even however, 70's/eighty's autos have been organic rubbish. I surely have a sixty 3 Thunderbird myself. And no, the motor vehicle it somewhat is self isn't secure, however I make it secure through putting my telephone on silent and removed from My view(however in a secure place if I crash so i will get entry to it) and concentration heavily on the line. yet all it somewhat is going to take is one 30 mph head on twist of fate and that i'm interior the wellbeing facility for average/important harm(based how fortunate i'm getting) yet, i think like my sixty 3 continues to be safer than a 70's/80s motor vehicle...i do no longer understand why....Oh genuine, they did no longer initiate using hammers and go setting up aspects(that don't in good shape) on the autos yet. and six grand is wayyyyy too lots for a chop save motor vehicle...My Tbird in basic terms fee be 4,500 and is in great each and every day motive force condition and way better!

Afore ye get rid of it, think carefully about what might be on the hard drive. Bank details, personal details, credit card etc?
You'll surely not want any of that to fall into the wrong hands.

Take out the old Harddrive (to be safe) and anything that may be useful for spares (CD Drive, Floppy drive...) and get rid of whatevers left. Try selling the old case and screen (if you dont need it) on EBAY ( http://www.ebay.co.uk ) and the buyer (if anyone wants it) can pick it up.

Go onto www.gumtree.com and list it as a freebie, be it junk or not someon may want it and they can come pick it up, alternatively you can even ask for a lift on there. Also try flogging it on ebay? You'll be surprised what people want to buy.
