Instead of focusing on OT discussions, why not focus on the New Testament, where Jesus said to love each other, and treat each other as you want to be treated? To me, those are the true teachings that should be followed.
Some bigoted "christians" spout chapter and verse about LGBT "abominations," but then conveniently ignore other "abominations" like eating shellfish, or wearing mixed clothing. Even worse, they conveniently forget about the "judge not" sections.
So focus on the INclusiveness and tolerance of the NT and you can't go wrong, vs. the hatred spewed by bigots. How can they have the gall to call themselves "christians" when they act exactly opposite of their teachings?

It depends on who you ask, but your answer is no because no such word existed back then. Many use a loose interprutation of select portions of Leviticus to back a claim of condemnation of homosexuality, but taken taken in its entire context as intended by the writers, one can see that when Moses leads the Jews out of Egypt then encountered pagans and Leviticus was about not emulating pagan worship or rituals which included ritualitstic sex practices to honor a false god. G-d did not want the swayed, having lived for so long as slaves now experiencing freedom it would have been easy for the people to transgress. This is furthered by no mention whatsoever of lesbians anywhere in any version of scripture.
Then you have the whole Sodom and Gomorrah thing. Too often those with an angenda of populating their faith (example the whole RCC thing against birth control in any form, all meant to supply more bodies for the church hence more revenue). Many say the cities were destroyed because of homosexuals, but that is inacurate. These cities were pagan also at a time when Moloch was widely worshipped. This worship involved wanton sexual acts with disregard for G-d. When the citizens asked to know the strangers and were beligerent about it, it wasn't homosexuality that brought down vengence, it was inhospitality, arrogance, rudeness, persistence, that brought G-ds vengence.
All this has been argued and changed and analzyed to death since scripture was translated from hebrew to greek, greek to latin, latin to germanic languages, and face it, you might get the story straight, but its like that party game that people play where someone whispers something into a persons ear and that person passes it on, who passes it on, and by the time its gone around the room the original "The sky is blue" turns into "I want to do you".

The word homosexual or homosexuality is never used in the Bible. There are places in which some translations interpret homosexual or homosexuality to be the intent of the passages although many scholars do not interpret those particular passages as actually referring to homosexuality.

I think that you got your answer. Even IF the homosexual references in the Old Testament are actually mentioning ritualistic sexual practices, the Letter to the Romans that Paul wrote certainly is detailed enough to show what he thought of it.
But this I bring to you: Notice that the practice described in Romans was a result of doing something else? It was because of an idolatrous practice that things changed into the homosexual practices.
Here are the verses:
Romans 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
So it was a form of idolatry that got them judged, a form of Evolution? Perhaps. But we see it today!
I do not know if Evolution inspires homosexuality, but the result was not the cause, it was the effect that God saw to it that would happen.
And then note that there is what I call, ' One of those lists':
Romans 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.
Who isn't guilty of being at least one of those things? lol
So It's not about being perfect that makes someone blessed by God, it's trusting Him that makes us blessed by God. Jesus talked to a woman that was what many Christians call 'living in sin.' I'm not talking about the woman about the be stoned, but the woman who was a Samaritan in the Gospel of John 4. He didn't judge her, but rather told her that He was the Messiah. He broght the Gospel to her and she believed. THAT'S what I'm talking about. She would trust Him for what He said and that's what any Christians who knos anything about the truth does. We trust God through Jesus Christ.
I know I went on a tangent with this. But I tie it in by saying to people, " Stop focusing on sin!" Sinisn't the point unless you think that you are not a sinner. The Gospel message is; Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. It's really that simple. The continuation of trust continues to bring a relationship with God. And you get closer to Him, not because you are somehow 'perfect' now, but because you trust God and are covered by His sacrifice.
I hope that helped you understand the real issue. ( :

Basically, yeah.
I appreciate the efforts of all these people who try to argue that since no word that directly translates to our modern "homosexual" is ever used in the bible, that's not really what they were talking about - but nothing could be clearer than Leviticus. I'll grant you that much is lost in translation, and even within a language, meanings shift dramatically over the course of centuries, but I'd rather use that argument to explain why we needn't take the Eden myth for literal historical fact. I hold it as fairly certain that the old lawmakers were in fact condemning sexual acts between men.
Of course, when we recall that these were essentially rules for a wandering tribe of nomadic savages, it makes sense that non-procreative sex was viewed as a social crime, just as the proscriptions against eating pork make sense in light of the fact that pork was frequently diseased and unsafe to eat. To imagine that these sorts of rules were intended for, or should be construed as, edicts for all of mankind throughout eternity, is simply idiotic.
Even "christians" so-called are fond of reflecting, when confronted with the fact that they no longer (e.g.) sacrifice animals to Jehovah, that the "Good News" of Jesus releases them from fidelity to the Old Law - although this fails to prevent them from invoking Leviticus to justify their hatred whenever convenient. Or maybe they prefer to cherry-pick some text from one of the NT letters of "Paul" to assure us that being gay is a sin - and yet, again, I could name a hundred other Pauline injunctions they daily disregard, either through ignorance or selective memory of their own supposed sacred texts. Paul was, in fact, a morbid sexual degenerate, on the evidence of his own letters, and roundly condemned ALL sexual activity as sinful, although he conceded that it was necessary for people (weaker in faith than himself) to commit this sin in order to perpetuate the species.
In short, yes, homosexuality is referenced and condemned in the bible. But so what?

Actually, really interesting answers.
How FASCINATING that Jesus did not condemn homosexuality.
One of the most interesting things from the bible is the phrase 'GOD MADE MAN IN HIS OWN IMAGE'.
Surely if that's true, God understands homosexuality.

Sure. And many will say that Jesus never spoke about it. Take a look at what Jesus said. "And he answered and said to them, have you not read, that he who made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, for this cause shall a MAN leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his WIFE: and they twain shall be ONE flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder." - Matthew 19:4-6.
If homosexuality is cool with Christ then why didn't he say a man shall leave his mother or father and be joined to a sheep, goat, horse, husband, etc.? Jesus is specific in his words. He said a man shall be joined to his wife. Biology confirms this. It is called procreation. It's kinda like what the purpose of sex is.

I don't have the exact place where it is in the bible. It does state that men shall not lay with men. This is an abomination and man was not created for that. You should read the bible and get all the facts so you won't be doomed to hell. Thank you and GOD bless.

It is mentioned in many places and is a sin however we as christians need to remember it is the sin God hates and not the sinner we should do likewise and welcome all sinners in and pray for there insight as to the error of sin!we are not called to hate the sinner
Lev.18:22-23
22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
Lev.20:13,15,16
13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.
Romans 1: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.
