I don't know if this will help you or not, but in my investigations it has occured to me that many people will tell you that unless you have the talent of a God, you must go to college. However, college does not always offer the correct classes for a songwriter, and even if they did, they would also force you to take other classes that have absolutely no relation to the position for which you are studying. For example, you would go for a degree in songwriting. They would say, "Hey, wonderful! As long as you take these higher level math classes, these few biology courses, ad a couple of industrial arts classes. Then you can go for your degree." I think it's a crock. If you can find a vocational or trade school for just songwriting, i would suggest that. Colleges are far too overrated.

You should probably take some English classes, since you had 3 spelling errors in there. But aside from that, there's really no special classes you need to take, just start writing. However, it is a hard business to break into.
One suggestion that I do recommend, I heard from a musician friend of mine: Write as much as possible, and look at other band's lyrics that you enjoy, and try to mimic their style, or have the melody to a song in your head and write new words to it. Then, once you've written 100 songs, throw them all away, because they were most likely crap you'll be embarassed by later, and start writing your own.

There are classes you can take for lyric structure however I feel writting lyrics from the heart and free formed works just fine, let them flow naturally and if something does not sound or look right just change it and improve the lyrics until you believe they are to their full potential

if you know how to do it then there's no need to go to school for it, it would land you a job quicker, but there are a crap load of people who never went to school and write songs. however, it would be wise to go to school for it to help make it better and enhanced your skills.
