Right lower abdominal pain. When you depress on the right lower quadrant of the abdomen and the pain is deflected( actually felt) in the upper left quadrant- this is considered a positive sign and emergency treatment ASAP.

When the appendix is inflammed, the pain first orginates around the area of the umbilicus (belly button). The the pain moves downwards and right towards the pelvis. The exact point where the appendix is (called the McBurney's point) is 2/3 the distance between the umbilicus and the anterior superior illiac spine ( this is part of the hip bone) on the right side of your body.
As the inflammation gets worse, fever ensues with chills. If the inflammed appendix gets ruptured, this is a medical emergency. There can be severe infections as a result and even death.

i had appendicitis
and they didnt diagniose it for ages. just thought that it was rumbkling. But when i had it out. I went to accidnet and ermegency and had pain in the right side of my stomach which started under my belly button. It was so bad my stoanch was hard and quite swollen on that side, i couldnt make it bloat to about 1 cm up. And i was violently sick with a fever and flushed cheeks.
