When you are a President of the U.S.A., you're a President for life, even after you died.

President Ford's funeral probably cost a lot American Tax payers, but it's only mere spare change in comparison of other events.

I personally much more concern in the time and effort it takes toll on the citizens of the U.S.A.. A time of mourning I understand, but continous and extended mourning?

Betty Ford for example was dragged around the country for this thing. Do you want this to happen to your grandmother or great-grandmother?

I dont know, but it was justified.

If you break down where the taxes go, to corrupt groups, politicians hidden bank accounts, political perks, flawed social services, useless war, squandered in other countries, etc... this is small necessary expense to be made for a former leader of our country.

I dont believe with the politics of our current president, in fact i despise him, but i would want no less of a service for him if it was his funeral.

How much did Ford save this country by not having any skeletons in his closet when he was president? or no hidden agendas? or getting us over watergate and sidestepping the numerous potential court cases, more government spending for 'committees' and other sort of wasteful spending that could of happened?

look at Clinton and Monica, how much was wasted there?

It couldn't have cost more than Reaganpalooza - oops, I mean Reagan's funeral.

Give Ford some credit: he probably did less damage than any other Republican president since Eisenhower.

What difference does it make? He was once the leader of the Free World. Why shouldn't we extend the honor to a former President? Is someone worried that it may cut into welfare payments or something?

As a tax payer I don't mind if they spend my money to show respect to one of our leaders be it republican or democrat, As Americans we do need to have a little bit of class, I would say probably in the millions to answer your questions.

One can only guess, but the bill should be shared by news, and media outlets, that made a killing, and you would have thought the hanging would be more attended to by them vultures, and vampires of our society!

I have no clue. What does it matter. We honored a past president, he deserved it and we as Americans should be honored that we can honor our Past Presidents like this.

He was well deserving of whatever the costs were

Bush, on the other hand - just for not attending the state funeral of Pres. Ford and deciding instead to hang out on his ranch, hunting - should get a pine box
