It takes 2 weeks tops for your social security cards to come in the mail. Before that you should have received a paper stating that you are waiting for your card in the mail, but in the mean time you have to identify you or your social security number with the letter from the social administration offices.

My youngest son was born 12/10/09... we got his social security card sometime around New Years (shortly after I think). My second to last child was born on 12/27 a few years ago, and I remember we got his social security card by the time he was 1 month old.

I got my new card in about two weeks. The hardest part was convincing myself to get up and go to the office and wait in line!

If you're really concerned, call the SSA office nearest you and ask them.
