To me it means a low life scum who refuses to work for a living, probably has sex with whoever they can find, and then either murders the baby by having an abortion or screams for us to pay to raise the baby with money stolen by the government from the tax paying workers of America.
Nothing to do with race at all...
"Ns" don't respect anyone or anything, including themselves. As stated by the rapper Ice-T, "everybody is a N***** to a N***** ".

i think of a term widley used back in the "old days" and a word that is now considered as bad as the F word and can be offensive to black people. I don't know why all it truly means is black person. I think the original shame from it could've started because back in the 40's and 50's when it was used blacks were not on the same social level as whites (which was horrible) and it could show a sign of disrespect.
But what about all the other words for other races? How come we're not defended as much?

I live in the south so I grew up hearing this word alot from older family members, but I always had a different perception of the word. I do not consider myself a racist, but I do however consider myself a classist. I don't care what color you are white, black or purple if you can't conduct yourself as a decent human being with respect for yourself and more importantly respect for the people around you then that's when I classify people into this category. Like I said I was raised in the "deep south" and have heard this term used for alot of different meanings, but to me it's just a coplete lack of class, dignity, and manners that will quantify someone to be a n-word or a w-word. Good luck on your paper.

I can not even remember the last time I heard the actual word. Honestly, white people do not sit around calling black people that word. Not in my circle of friends. We have black friends in our circle. I have never EVER heard anyone say anything about their race when they are not around. They are the only people who sometimes bring it up. Now I did hear it when I lived in the south. Usually from much older men who grew up during a different era. To them it just meant they were black. There is my honest answer.

MOST of the Caucasians that use this word use it as a derrogatory comment. The people that I grew up with would not use it unless they meant the person was a do-less individual that harmed others in one way or another. I am a Christian and I have a real problem with people using this word at all. I value everyone on earth. Have a great week!!

you cant throw the freedom of speech thing in there there are still a ton of pussys that will report anything on here because they cant handle other peoples opinions. But in my opinion I use the word niigger freely just as the blacks use it. I dont believe in this whole "we can say it but you cant" philosophy that blacks use. I say screw it, its a free country and i say what i want to say now i wont just walk up to a black person and yell "niigger" in their face but i will use it in defence just as a black person has called me a stupid cracker, or a dumb white boy. I use it when antagonized but however it is used isnt it funney how a word can have such an impact i mean come on its only a word lighten the hell up

I don't use it and I don't like when other people do. I know that amongst black people it can be ok but I think it gives power to hate ever time it's used. I don't associate anyone with the word all I associate with it is a deep hatred that needs to be out off the world.

there are certain stereotypes for every culture and ethnicity out there. the "N" word is a hate word chategorizing someone into that negative stereotype. I work with black people and I am white. Would never consider any of them that. Sometimes i even forget they are black. There is a difference!

To me it means a nasty backstabbing theiving S.O.B.
And no I don't think all blacks are the N-word. I have called white people the N word in a hateful way and they also do not like the word. Its a word I am trying hard not to ever say.

I'm being honest here: I think it's a grave insult to any black person. I have never used it and when I hear it anywhere but television I get a sinking feeling like watching someone yell C*** at another in a hateful manner. It's a slander meant to offend and does so.
