Well, my son is 3y/o and weighs 30lbs. He had his well check up last week and they said that was normal for a 3y/o. I'm guessing she might be a little over weight but ask her pediatrician before getting upset.

Every child is differant. My son at 12 months was I believe around 27 lbs and over 30 inches long. But my daughter who is a little over two weighs 26 lbs and i'm not sure how long. It just varies on the child. Your doctor will tell you if he is concerned or not. Just because you have a pudgy baby doesn't mean that you will have a pudgy child. This day in age people are so concerned about weigh that when a ''normal'' looking baby is around people think it's fat. When in reality it is a very healthy child.

Talk to your doctor. All babies grow at different paces, and will fall into a range - not a certain weight. If the doctor isn't concerned, then I wouldn't be.

I have the opposite problem - my 17 month old weighs 22 lbs, is 32" long, and eats like a bird. But I look at daddy, and I see that he is long and very lean as well. Better that than being like her mommy and fighting weight issues all her life.

I would more go by height to weight than either individually for age. I have a baby that is 28 1/2 inches and right at 20 pounds, which puts him right at average.

Usually when you go to the doctors.. for a check up or shots... they weigh and measure the child.. there is a little scale graph that they put the height and weight unto to tell you what percentile you child falls in.. in those categories.

There is no such thing as overweight for a baby. Why is this world so focused on weight. As long as the baby is getting all the nutrients they need and are eating healty foods, that is what is best.
