I don't cook and I wanted to know if you can still be on a diet while eating at fast food resturants. What type of foods are ggod for this at the fast food places? I am comparing Wendy's, McDonalds, Burger King, Taco Bell, and pizza (I know not a fast food place but it is fast food).

Okay so grilled meats (chicken mostly) and salads with lo fat dressings. Subway should probably be wear I should eat most. Am I getting this right.

Also I would love to cook at home but I work two jobs and the only time I am home is to shower and sleep. I dont have the time to make a meal. Althought I do it once in a while.

Losing weight is a matter of calories eaten vs. calories burned.
So if you choose a 1200 calorie day diet, you can fit in fast food (within reason) as long as you stay under 1200 calories a day you will lose weight.

However, the fat to calories ratio on most fast food isn't really great so while you may be losing weight, you may not be healthy in the long run - too much saturated fat can lead to heart disease, strokes, etc.

Best to limit fast food to once in only a great while.

Most fast food restaurants provide nutrition information on their websites so you can look it up and see just how little you can eat if you want to stay under 1200 calories.

Well, I finally watched "Super Size Me" this week, and it was amazing. I always knew how fattening fast food was, but hearing the statistics made me think twice when I go out for lunch.

Basically, keep the fast food to an absolute miniumum...you will not lose weight...you will GAIN weight! Subway is much better than other places of course, but keep the fatty foods to a minimum there (don't eat the cookies, greasy chips and tell them to go easy on the condiments). Drink water instead of soda (diet soda is ok, but water is the best). Have some Sun Chips on the side...they're delicious!

I understand that you're busy with work, so you don't have much time to cook. Try buying food from the market, that only needs eating or very little preparation, but is still healthy. No good can come of fast food! You could also try cooking some food, which will stay fresh and last for a few days, then alternate between different foods.

Hope this helps!

As long as you do not live a sedentary lifestyle and are moderately active- that should go very well with counting calories. You can totally lose weight as long as you do not order a big fatty combo meals and upsize them. Get the lower fat items . For instance MCD hamburgers have not even 300 calories, maybe only 260, and a small fries has slighty more- so as long as you are not consuming more than about 1500-1800 calories a day (AND are slightly active)- you can look good and maintain your weight. You can lose weight if you work out for about an hour 5 days a week- maybe even 4- but calories are most important-(if the food is fatty- then you will be slim, but get cellulite sp? on your body) -so as long as the fat is less then 50% of TOTAL calories you are good to go- get a nutrition menu from the fast food places .Nuggets are very easy to eat as they are lower in calories and fat- try to pick the food without CHEESE if you are really concerned- you can even get combo meals and replace fries with the fruit that they offer . I could go on and on- I hope this helps. PIZZA is awesome, it has all food groups in it-a BIG HUGE slice should have about 600 calories, but a mini personal pizza might have more, but get the nutrition once again

I think you answered your own question---if you choose the obviously sensible lower calorie and less addictive choices, like salads. There are actual books or web sites where you can find out the lowest calorie sandwiches to order in fast food restaurants and some of them are not too bad, so you should do some checking. Obviously a grilled chicken sandwich w/o mayo and probably only mustard is going to be less caloric than a quarter pounder with cheese or a double whopper! So, for most of the week order salads (McDonalds has good ones); use low calorie dressing or vinagerette; buy some low fat fudge bars or Weight Watcher desserts and have one after your meal....and maybe one day a week splurge on something a little higher in calories in your favorite fast food restaurant.

Hey I'm right along with you https://tr.im/DailyNewsTrends i weighed 150 and now i weigh 142 i lost 8 pounds in a week i posted a question about my diet i don't know

how i can get you to look at it! I'm on the diet but i do pay for it and the classes all i do is make sure i have money. I'm 5'2 22 years old a female and weighed 150 lol i now weigh 142 and it's only been my first week of dieting. I know it's probably water weight but girl it works just follow what i have to say!

You don't have to work out but i mean walking 2 miles or 3 miles a day won't hurt just speeds up the process! Do not eat after 7pm but drink water to fill you up! Drink water all day but not too too much just after every meal you eat!

Start off with a cup of cereal and a half cup of milk a day! Than have a 100 calorie snack about 2 hours after your breakfast. Than have a Smart Ones meal for lunch,

another 100 calorie snack a couple hours after that. Than for dinner another Smart Ones meal, and for a dessert have another 100 calorie snack or something small. But

don't eat past 7pm. It really works. I mean i been wanting to get under that 150 mark for the longest and i finally did it I'm 142 now and its only Saturday! lose weight very fast very quickly

It will work just keep your mind to it. Stay positive! Things happen in time. Just don't eat fast food don't drink sodas and definitely don't eat SWEETS! lose weight very fast very quickly

There is essentially no way to eat healthy and still eat at fast food restaurants. That type of diet is extremely unhealthy. I got into the habit of eating fast food three times a week or so, due to being nusy at work, and have put on 20 plus pounds in two years. I'm sure there are other factors, but fast food is horrible for you, and we all need to stop eating it.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

I weight just over 200 lbs, and usually whenever I go out, it's to somewhere like Subway, The Macaroni Grill, White Spot, Boston Pizza, Siam, Edo, The Famous Wok...you know, places that make good healthier food than McDonalds or some other 'fast food kill me if I eat to much' place. You know what I mean?

I love subway, and that's how I lost 30 pounds in 2 months. My boyfriend likes to take me out, usually we go to subway, then go swimming at a community center or do some other activity like sex. Something that gets you sweating alot. Believe me when I say, you will feel lighter after having sex every week 3 times a week.

Sorry off topic a bit, but anyways, if you go somewhere like Subway, COLD CUT COMBO is a good choice, because you get three types of meat, cheese, and you can put whatever vegetables you want (ooh and carrots are good on it as well). Also, I always put dressings on them because I know I will be working it off after anyways. (Southwest Chipotle, Ranch, Mustard and Mayo - depending on what you like).

If you go to Boston Pizza or some place like that, order a nice pasta like "Chicken Fettucini Alfreado" with garlic toast and parmeasan and maybe an apple juice, or a milkshake or milk. :) It's awsome, plus you don't have to finish the dinner there (they give you alot) so take some home if you find yourself stuffing yourself. With that pasta I am almost sure you get all your four food groups. Wheat (pasta and bread), Dairy (sauce and milkshake or milk), Fruit (tomatoes and strawberries in milkshake if you get strawberry), Vegetables (green onion), and Meat (chicken). You can also order a side dish as a ceasar salad or something. :)

I hope this works. I am constantly losing weight because of this, so who said going out and eating in a NORMAL restaurant can't make you lose weight!

Best Wishes for 2007,
Shelley

I would go to subway, or mr. sub for some nutrious meal. But yeah order the chicken that is grilled, anything fried will clog your arteries (cooked in trans fat is alot worse). Also look at the caloric intake from salade dressing because sometimes they can be really fatty as well, I suppose if you ate salades without dressing they could be good for you.

If you want to steer away from fast food and get some kind of fast dinner you can eat at home I would recommed buying tv dinners that you can heat up in the microwave. Some microwavble meals I recommend is hungry man, or swason meals, you could also get lean cousine but i have never tried it.

Also if there is grocery store near by that offers chicken, wedges, and salade to go that could also be good for you. Uh, I don't know where you are from (in canada) but westons and loblaws offer these type of premade meals. Basically I think it is a rotessorie chicken, with potatoe wedges, and your choice of salade (potatoe, or coleslaw), or just order a certain one you like seperatly (only chicken, or only potatoe wedges)

Hope this helps.

It's not the place you eat at, but the kind of food you order. Grilled chicken is leaner and therefore has fewer calories than fried chicken. Salads have less fat than hamburgers, unless you slather on lots of dressing, which is where the fat is. You have to look at what you're ordering and only eat things that are not fried, or are prepared fresh without all the dressing. Use fat free dressings and grilled meats and you should be okay. It's something you have to get used to. Oh yeah, only diet drinks or water! Regular soft drinks have way too many calories for anyone!
