100 is not a thousand to round to. 56,000 is the nearest thousand.

To round any number to any place, you look at the number in the next place. If the number in the next place is a 4 or lower, it is tounded down, but if it is a 5 or higher, you round it up. Let's take 27,184 for example. If we want to round it to the nearest hundred, we lok at the number in the next place (the 8). The 8 is higher than 5, so wer round it up to 27, 200.
Your number is 56,158. You want to round it to the thousands place, so we look at the next number (the 1). The one is ess than 4, so it gets rounded down to 56,000.
