first, you have two sentences here. it's a runon in present form. drop the whilst, that's pretensious. try,

While pretending to be insane would be a challege for any actor, Hamlet, using his impressive whit, shows he has tremendous self-control, intellect and forms of power ...... (in the play, by mascarading as a fool, whatever)
