Most churches use any extra money they get for charity work and give to teh poor! Go in a church for a month and you will find out. The only exception to me seems to be teh catholic church which seems like they hord money more ofthen (not always).
Having an overabundance of money is the root of evil, look at movie stars, excetera.
Remember churches need some money to keep running. they are not schools and don't get government funding. The preacher often gets no outside pay and to live somehow! i know one preacher that preaches as well as works in a nursing home as a nurse because it doesn't pull in enough money for him and his wife to live to preach alone. Don't make fun of the church and it's needing money. They would not exist if it weren't for donations.

To give it to the poor people who have no money. I think the saying "money is the root of all evil" means if you have a lot and you are obsessed, but not if it means the difference between getting a meal or not. Then its helping.

So the churches can have money to buy hymnals and stuff for the church. The reason money is the root of all evil is so that you don't let money rule your life.

Money itself is not bad. It's the LOVE of money that is bad. Churches need to keep going too.

Because we need it to live DUH!!!!!!!!!! How is a church supposed to function without paying the bills, taxes etc?? Its just like you having to pay your bills. The church must survive just like you. Theres nothing wrong with the church or anybody to have a little money. God wants us to have things!
