If you make it yourself, you can certainly have a healthy pizza; I live out in the middle of nowhere, and there is not ONE pizza place that will deliver to me. This turns out to be somewhat of a blessing, as I'm forced to make my own if I decide I really have to have a pizza. I use either one of those home pizza kit crusts (actually I use two, and spread it thin, using only enough butter or oil to keep it from sticking to the pan). I often make my own sauce from tomato paste and added spices and top it with whatever I happen to have on hand (fresh vegetables, canned vegetables, seafood, leftover meat, etc.) and shredded cheese of whatever kind I happen to have.

The store bought pizzas, on the other hand, are swimming in grease and probably have twice the calories that my homemade ones have! I sometimes indulge in a thin-crust pizza from Domino's, but you can be sure I'm not thinking about how bad it is for me! (Also, you'd be surprised how hard it is to find a commercial pizza place that will add anchovies upon request--most places discontinued it).

Not generally. I work at a Papa John's and everybody gets free food or just eats mess-ups. Let's just say we have some pretty jiggly employees. Of course it's good for you if you eat it in moderation...most foods are that way. You can also make it a little better for you by ordering it a certain way. For instance, thin crust instead of hand-tossed, loaded with veggies instead of meats, light sauce, and light cheese...skip any extra dipping sauces and only eat one slice. But really...how many people do that? Generally, it's just bad for you though. One slice of cheese pizza on hand-tossed crust is 300 calories, 100 of those from fat. That's just one slice. Most people eat 2-3 slices easily. Plus, it has almost no nutrients. Adding meats adds even more calories. So, I'd say that it's not very good for you.

It would be a better option than some of the other fast foods out there such as fried chicken....actually anything fried is not a good idea. If you get a thin crust pizza (for lower carb), light sauce with plenty of fresh veggies and chicken, it should be pretty healthy option

depends on how you make it ... it can actually be quite healthy if you make it yourself. This way you regulate what goes in it and how much. As for take out pizza ... most pizza chains are far from healthy. The amount, and nutritional value of the products are the fattiest. They go for flavor and the way to get a lot of flavor is to use whole fat cheeses, pepperoni, and other meats. If you want to know the exact nutritional value of some pizza places, go to their official website and search their nutritional facts page.

If you make it yourself then you control how healthy it is. But if you are talking about fast food type pizza then no way. Have you ever taken a napkin and soaked up the grease off the top of the pizza??? Sooo gross.

Well is pizza good for you, err it depends on who made it & what toppings are on it, there is alot of fat in cheese which in modreration is fine but too much can lead to obesity or high cholesterol, the toppings can either sway it to being good or bad depending which you have but vegetables eg peppers onion garlic mushrooms are fine but anchovies salami are high in salt , enjoy the odd pizza though & eat a balanced diet & who is to say they are bad for you.!

Yes, pizza is very good for a person, nutritionally speaking.
It has bread (grain), it is baked not fried in grease. It has cheese (dairy) It has tomato base (prevents cancer)
If you top w/ peppers, olives, onions, mushrooms, you can add to the nutricious quality of it even more.
The meat topping provides needed protein.

Pizza's not bad for you. Depends how much you decide to eat if you have it every once in a while than that is fine. But I don't have it every day or every week, as it is not healthy

No way, The crust turns to sugar in the body therefore making people fat. You would think it would be OK because on the nutrient side it has everything meat, veggies and bread. It actually has the opposite effect.

it's fine to eat in moderation, eating a couple of slices with a salad is better for you then eating 4 or five slices of pizza on it's own.
