don't forget his war on the middle class

The tragic national debt, and the absolutely criminal spending
Incompetence in the Katrina debacle
and oh BTW Healthcare costs out of control

Maybe because the people no longer trust the Bush Administration and their policies. When polls say 70% of the people are in favor of briging your troops home from Iraq there is a problem and it was the same thing when Nixon was in power during the Vietnamese War, he didn't listen to what the people wanted, he is like Bush he doesn't listen to what the people want. The trouble with the Bush Administration is that they are creating more lies to stay the course so the Oil Companies can make more money yet.

The Republicans lost because many elected Republican representatives have abandoned the very conservative principles which the Republican base votes for. A message needed to be sent and it was. The results of the next election is what will count. Mid terms generally have very little effect on the country as a whole. If anything the message was sent at the right time. We now have 2 years in which both sides have to prove their worth to the country before the next major election.

The only thing you have right is the perception of a failed war.
The job market is the best its been since the mid-1990s. The US has better than full employment.
Gas prices have absolutely nothing to do with Bush. Unless you are going to credit him for lowering prices from $3.15/gallon, you can't blame him for driving prices up to that mark, can you?
And corruption? Ever hear of Rep. William Jefferson (D-LA)? He was caught with something like $75,000 in his freezer. Talk about cold hard cash. Yet he's back, as are many Congressmen known for taking bribes.

All of the above except Haggard, but in reality he has no effect on the price of gas. What killed the GOP last Nov was the lack of the evangelical vote. Bush sold them down the river and there very pissed off.

Sounds like you're answering your own questions. Personally, I think it was corruption because that was the No. 1 issue for people who voted when they were asked by pollsters.
People who voted Democratic seemed to feel like the Republicans had their chance to make things better and that it was time to give the Dems a shot.

It's almost funny watching someone say 'if that is why republicans lost then we have a bunch of extremely ignorant people'....
I'd say that's what caused the last 6 years or Republican corruption and bush incompetence- extremely ignorant people.

Actually they lost a lot of close races. Overall it wasn't a rout.
Bush's poor rating and the Republican loss is attributed to an abandonment of conservatism, not an acceptance of left-wing views (like you have stated).
America is still center-right politically.

. . . The drugs wearing off. . .
People got sick of the appearance of "the good ol' boys" covering each other's @$$. No matter what the "popular" opinion of the people was, the government was doing what they wanted to do for their corporate buddies, their own agendas, or just because they could. And everyone got sick of it.
God help the Democrats if they don't appear to do something. . .

Well when you continue to support bumbling idiots that have a middle school reading level you tend to not look too bright. Lets face it, republicans have not had a good idea since, I dont know you are going to have to tell me. The only thing that they do good, is ruin people and rig elections. Excuse me, they are also good at ordering kids to kill people. "W" was and is a catastophe. Hope these two years hury by.
