I'm thinking about getting a postal scale in order to weight my new ball python so I can keep thorough records, but I want to make sure that I don't get a scale that won't be able to weight her as she ages. How much does an average adult ball python weigh?

An adult Ball Python will grow to between 2,000 (4.5 pounds) and 4,000 grams (9 pounds). You MAY find one as large as 6,000 grams (13 pounds), but that would be rare. You will never find one approaching 20 pounds much less 50 pounds.

The first guy was stupid, around 5 to 10 for your average Ball python. If you got anything more than that, your looking at a world record.

Protein need to lose weight and to repair muscle after working out. When muscles repair themselves, they grow. But that depends on the type of exercise. Usually lifting heavy weights breaks muscles more. So, there is more growth during repairs. Add a healthy fat into your diet, too. Salmon, flax seeds, nuts, olive oil. There are many useful information about losing weight and building muscles here:

Regis pythons average up to TOPS 6 lbs. The norm being 2 to 4lbs. The best scales that I have found are called " counting scales" from Toledo scales. You can contact "Mettler toledo scales " but don't be shocked at the price. As with anything if you want a superior product you pay a superior price.

I have several species of which 2 are ball pythons they range from 2.3 lbs. to 5.2 lbs. My venomous species are put is sacks and weighed . The top loading convex plate holds the item being weighed with ease.

Also Toledo is one of the most reputable scale manufacturers in the business. Try 1800-563-0161 in Illinois. Ask for a booklet of products sold, That is sent for No charge.

Hope this helped. Joel

My brother has one and she is 8 years old, 4 feet long and about 35 lbs. It took her 4 years to get to that size and since then she hasn't grown much and she eats less than while she was growing. I can't imagine one, even an overfed one, growing to be more that 55lbs.

a ball shouldn't weigh near 150lbs, I've seen several full grown and never one over 50lbs.
