Moussaka can vary widely from restaurant to restaurant. The best I know of is at John's Hideaway Restaurant on College St. in Carlisle, PA. They have it as their special every other Thursday, and also make it for the Greek Church Festival in Harrisburg every year.

Moussaka is excellent. If you have a Greek resturant in your area try it there, and see what you think before trying to make it yourself. It is usually made with lamb, though sometimes beef. Eggplant is another main ingredient.

Here are a few links for your information.

LOVE it!! I just made my 7th trip to Greece this past summer and I never miss eating moussaka on my trips. Not so hard to make either but better to order it and get an idea of how it looks before trying it alone.

Moussaka is greek, it's made with eggplant and is very yummy. I love greek food, but arabic food is good too, syrian or lebanese. They cook with lamb, rice, chick peas, lemon, garlic/onions and cheese.
