I have both ING and HSBC. Also have a small Paypal account.
ING is my favorite, even though it pays 0.5% less than HSBC. Their website is friendlier, their responses are quick and easy to understand, and their funds movement is reliable.
HSBC tends to be very slow in moving money in & out; I don't know why. They have taken up to a week to transfer money to my checking account, and I had problems when a check bounced.
I will very likely be closing out my HSBC this year, and moving the balance in to ING.

I personally do not recommend HSBC aka Orchard Bank. Their whole process is a nightmare. It took them more than 5 months to setup my account and another 3 before I had actual access to it. Horrible customer service with call centers in India and the Philippines. Just say no!
go with ETRADE.com or ING

There are three very good ones. Capital One has one that has a competitive interest (last I looked it was about 4.5%) and a low minimum deposit. The Orange Account from ING has no minimum deposit, and it is always around 4.0-5.0% . Lastly, Citibank has an e-savings account with 5.0% interest, although it requires that you already have a bank account with Citibank, I believe.

ING is pretty good, but you need to transfer $250 from an existing account to get the better rates. Plus if you can get someone to refer you, you'll get a $25 free deposit plus another $2 for being referred.
In response to the competition, my credit union opened an internet only savings account, so check our your credit union.
Capital One has a nice competitive rate.

HSBC by far, easy to open and a rate of 5.05% They do free bank to bank transfers so it is super easy to put money in. They are also offering a good rate on a 6 month CD 5.25%.

I like ING Direct. There are no minimums, no fees, and their site is easy to use. Also, you can create new accounts very easily and quickly, and call them anything you want.
