I have had problems in the past with my heating in a 2000 Plymouth Breeze. About a year ago, I noticed that I wasn't getting any airconditioning to the car, only heat. I brought it in and they said that the problem was a $5 lever, but no one will sell the lever, only the entire part which is around $500. Unfortunately I don;t have the money for that so I am going back every change in season so they can switch the lever between air conditioning and heat as it can only be switched to one at a time.

Now I am having a problem with my heat only coming out on the highest setting out of 4 settings. I am afraid this might be a problem that is corresponding with the first and that eventually it might stop blowing heat all together, which would be awful in winter seeing as I live in Wisconsin! Anybody have any ideas as to why and how to fix this problem? Thanks!

My car had the same problem. Lucky for me my dad could fix it. Good thing is the heat wont stop unless you wear out your fan. Its a switching device that sets behind your glove box. And whoever told you it would cost around 500 dollars is lookin for money.

The part alone only cost around 50-75 dollars and the rest of that quote is probably labor. If you can find a guy or gal around to do it, it only takes about 2 hrs to change.

Its a little black box connected to some wires that unhooks from behind the glove box. Change that and things will be back to normal. Dont let a shop cheat you out of anything. hey have a habit of doing so.

I agree with Doc. Bad ballast resistor in the blower compartment. Common problem.

You (more than likey) need a news fan. My Lexus did this and I had to have the fan replace....been fine ever since. Got the fan off ebay (EXCELLENT PRICE) and had a friend install it (very easy). Good luck!
