Dreams are usually very literal, such as giving birth is giving birth to new ideas or situation - maybe associated with your boyfriend. People going to hospital is usually a time for concern, so maybe you are concerned about a new idea your boyfriend suggested!!!!.
Symbols in dreams usually relate to events from the day before hand, so think very literal , what did your boyfriend say that your sub conscience is trying to work out? Something is starting out small and perfect, but it up to you to let it grow some more??
Its just a suggestion, but there are some good dream dictionary's out there.

It means you had a dream that you got a call saying your boyfriend was in hospital, when you went there he had given

It means that you are thinking about having Children but are either unsure if you boyfriend wants them or he definately doesn't. By putting him in the position that he has to have the child it saves you needing to persuade him that it is what he wants.
The main aspect of any dream is how the dream makes you feel... if you woke up feeling pretty happy about it... (kinda sounds like you did by saying the girl was perfect).. then that is the main interpretation I could find.
If you were distressed about it then I would put another interpretation on it... something like your boyfriend is taking charge over your right to have a child... maybe the other way around that he wants one and you don't or that you have children and he is taking over your role as mother.
Maybe doesn't need to be children.. could be to do with pets even..

Dreams of babies are always fortunate in the dream analysis world.
Maybe you want him to baby you or perhaps you would like him to commit to the relationship more. With no other facts it is rather hard to comment with any sort of intelligience.
