President of the US and leader of the free world? Or senator representing one state?

Maybe we should only have one senator then...and everyone gets to vote for that senator...

It all depends on what party the president or the senator you are talking about are from!

I will answer according to whatever makes my party look good and the other party look bad!

(Sarcasm - but I fear that's what many here do anyway, without coming out and saying it.)

Ideally we'd have ethics in all our elected representatives. but yes, I'd say that generally malfeasance by a president is a more serious matter for the country.

Quite honestly the Senator. And I had to think about this one for a minute...good question. I think the reason I chose a senator is they are the ones going to the president with the ideas from "their state" they are representing us! The president represents us but on a much higher level and supposedly trusts what the senators say.

I think that the more people you represent the more you should strive for better standards than your normal every day ditch-digging worker might have (I'd use Sailor here but I'm retired from the Navy)...

Since the President represents the WHOLE country.. His should be higher than someone that only represents one state.

You have a good question.
Just one of many answers, look at the issues, if you like Them join a party, you can always write, and your voice will be heard.....I am a democrat, a US Veteran, as an example; I can say that in the Past I have written My Congressman at least 3 times, and I can honestly say each Time I get a prompt answer, and see the results. Plus spread the word to get out, and vote.
Just another note, even within parties you may not totally agree with every issue, but we have to consider in the us their are a lot of cultures.

I am getting tired of people giving ALL politicians free passes on morality and honesty.
Answers to questions I have asked say, "all politicians lie to some extent". As their EMPLOYER, we should all DEMAND they set an example of decency and integrity.
The President should set the tone for his country the way the Pope does for the Catholic Church but all Senators, Governors, and Congressmen should be above reproach in order to be elected and keep their JOBS.

Both the same. Actually, we should all strive to be honest, ethical, moral and true to our word regardless of our standing in the universe.
