What did you think of Casino Royale?

I saw it and in many ways I liked it. But.......
I'm a Bond fan from way back. I saw my first Bond film in the mid 60's. Been a fan ever since.
There were a few moments of humor in CR but it was violent in a serious way that was somewhat disturbing. Violence can sometimes just be more of an action thing. This was some serious violence.
Connery always seemed to have this sly sense of humor that I loved and somehow the Bond movies that he was in, always seemed to have a sense of style and humor that made them fun. This movie seemed much more serious and Bond was much more serious.
It liked this one but I preferred the old Bonds' sense of style, exotic locals and humor.I use to love going into Bond's exotic,stylish world.
Final opinion-Recommended-Go see it-3.5 stars out of 5. It's definitely a new TYPE of Bond though. I also see great promise for the new Bond. I think he can be very very good.

I forgot to add this. The first chase scene where Bond is chasing his first victim on foot, is one of the best action scenes I've ever seen. Incredible stuff. Almost worth the price of admission!

The old ones with connery are definitely better, but I liked this new one quite a lot. Some of the newer bonds kind of lost the feel Connery use to show. This new one kind of reminded me a little of the old ones, and excluding the last 10 mins I thought the movie was excellent.

Thought it was the best Bond I've ever seen. Don't forget, this is like starting over again - the exotic locals, sense of style etc will come (you saw that with the stuff about the tailored DJ). Craig's Bond will soon eclipse Connery's.

I agree with your last opinion.. i even thought that JOHN WOO had something to do with that scene cause seems like the ones he has done in the past..
I liked it and also the new James Bond is quite alike Sean Connery when was young. Not gorgeous but Handsome and attractive.

bond is usually this highly educated guy who throws a bomb into some room full of people an that bomb explodes 2 hours later when he touches his left ear....
in CR Daniel Craig is the guy who goes by himself and puts the bomb in the room waits for the 2 hours inside the room and then manually activates the bomb....

CR is a more human/normal type of bond which is good (i guess) and........ I have never seen Bond so attached to someone as he was to Vesper... in the past Bond was
some sort of Gigolo.

over all it is a pretty good movie ....I'm looking forward to seeing this new bond in action.

It grew to become into actually superb! Eva eco-friendly is clever, witty and has a organic attractiveness that's no longer so frequently liked in right this moment's Hollywood. It made me assume the subsequent Bond experience much extra. a clean famous person is born!

Comparing it to Connery isn't fair. I think the old ones are the best, but i LOVED Casino Royale. They needed a good one after the crap that has been coming out the last few years

i thought the movie was great. definitely great action. i think this bond was a lot more gritty and believable than pierce bronsan but not quite as smooth as sean connery
