well, they could still have a STD even if they are a virgin cuz a parent could have had it and it could have gotten passed to them at birth, or they could have come in contact with a contaminated needle, etc....yes you can get std's from swapping bodily fluids, thats mostly how they are transmitted. the pill does not protect against STDs at all, it prevents pregnancy, not disease, any only commercial or website will tell you that. condoms or abstinence is the only way to truly prevent it-go get tested together, then you will no for sure if its safe.

well im sure they would knwo if they had an std. you can get an std if you mom has an outbreak when she is in labor. and pass it on to you. but usulayy if theis happens they do a cesarian(sp?) section.
i do not think that there is a risk. i have always wondered these questions too
and NO the pill is not enough.if no condom is used. she can still get pregnant. it depends how well she is with using the pill (on time at the same taime everyday!) and how long she has been on it.. you should always use a condom no matter what! the pill is only 99% effective. so 1 in 100 women who do not use a condom and use the pill reguluary will get pregnant. she coudl be that 1 in 100... so use a condom no matter if you are both virgins or not. you soudl always use a condom so she wont get pregnant...the pills also do not protect agains hiv/ or stds. im sure you knwo that by now though!
always use a condom no matter what! ont he pill or no! better to be safe than sorry!

STDs will only be an issue if you or your partner has had sex with other people.
if you are 100% positive that you are both virgins, then there is no risk of an STD.
i don't know how much you trust your partner, but i was engaged to someone and thought we were in a monogamous relationship and then i found out that he was a total whore and was cheating on me with many women....needless to say...i will always require STD tests. i'm married to a faithful guy now, but a gal can never be too sure!
as for birth control. i've always had luck with the pill, but i was pretty religious about it. however, i recommend that if you are in no way ready for a baby then use a condom and the pill. double protection is always better. accidents happen all the time and if you aren't ready for even an accidental pregnancy, then double up and be safe!
take care.

in theory, 2 virgins shouldn't contract an std from each other, but it would be best to not tempt fate, since there's more than one way to get infected (for example, hiv can be spread through body fluids even if there's no penetration). the pill is 99% effective in preventing pregnancy when used as directed, but it does not protect you from std's. considering that this question was posted in the adolescent section, i assume that you are still quite young. and in general, young people usually don't make the wisest decisions. if you decide that now's the time to lose your virginity, make sure that it is with a person that you care about and that they care about you too, and ALWAYS use protection, EVERY TIME. good luck.

If both of you are "true virgins" meaning you have never had any kind of sexual contact whether it be oral, anal, vaginal, etc. Then no you would not catch anything because there has been no sexual contact. However, please keep in mind that HIV and AIDS are transmitted from a mixture of blood containing the virus. So technically a person can be a virgin yet have AIDS or HIV if they have been in contact with blood that contained the viruses. In other words, PLEASE USE PROTECTION!! AIDS and/or HIV can remain dormant in your system for up to 10 years. So a person may have the virus and no know it yet. The pill protects against pregnancy, it does not offer any protection against STI (sexually transmitted infections). So it would probably be better to use the pill and a latex condom.

NO form of birth control is 100% effective against pregnancy or STD's.
IF both people are virgins then the chance of STD's is lessened but its best for both to be tested just in case! You can catch an STD of a toilet seat!
In most cases it would be considered safe to go for it if you both are true virgins.
I would use pill and condom together!

It's good for the girl to be on the pill, and always use a condom. It's double protection that way and using condoms is a good habit to get into. Keep in mind, the pill only works if taken correctly, and most people don't use it 100% correctly.

there is a risk when swapping fluids any time you do it. condoms can help prevent STD transmission as well as pregnancy, though not 100% effective. i woul still add the pill to ensure pregnancy doesnt happen.
the odds that either one has any STD's is pretty low, though not a full guarentee. like kissing can pass herpes back and forth for example.

Can you be 100% sure this is your partners first time? Why risk it? The pill is only 99%, I have known friends to conceive on the pill.
