My three week old son has started to roll over from his tummy to his back. This seems a little early. What do you think?

It's early but that just means your son is strong! Be proud! But be careful and make sure he can't do it in the middle of night because you don't want SIDS. My daughter was rolling over from back to tummy around 2 months. Each baby develops differently for example: my daughter is 6 months old and just started crawling (the average age of crawling is around 8 or 9 months) BUT she hasn't really laughed yet whereas my best friend's son (he's about 6 weeks younger) has been laughing since October! (naturally I'm jealous but hey my baby is mobile now lol). So no worries, he may wind up an early crawler like my daughter...just keep an eye on him. Congrats and best wishes!

I think it's pretty early but there is nothing wrong with it. It's good that your baby wants to move around so much already! I would keep playing and keep on giving him that tummy time while you are watching him, a lot of babies don't like tummy time very much because they are so used to being put on their backs to sleep. But if that's what he wants to do, let him.. Just make sure to watch closely!

my son did that at 4 weeks old - just strong little boys.
Want to see whats going on around them :)

Be prepared for him to start walking early - my son did at 9 months - its been fun.

Congratulations! Every child is different. Our son was rolling over at 2 weeks. He just sounds strong.

my son did the same thing. when he was a newborn he would flip around and he'd curl up on his side, but once he started to gain some weight he stopped.
once your baby starts gaining some more weight he will stop rolling around so much...then after a few months he will start up again!!!

take care!

Yeah that is early, usually between 3-6 months. Every baby is different so just remember most parenting tips are just guidelines to new parents and not facts.

sounds to me like he is very eager to get going incrawling that is up to how well and healthy the baby is also he has a good ambition about him if he is trying to do this at a earlier stage just be happy 4 him

Not really. Babies one minute old can crawl up their mom to reach the breast.

Don't worry about developing "too soon", leave him be he won't hurt himself.
