Anytime a woman had a funny odor down there for several days and it isn't just BO froma hard days work, they should definitly see an OBGYN.It can be anything froma s simple as a yeast infection, bladder infection, urinary track infection,to something more serious like an STD,cancer...etc... She has no reason to be afraid of going to the doctors.Thats is what they are there for.All woman should see an obgyn atleast once year, every year from the time they start their menstural cycle.Ask her questions, talk to her,let her know it's ok and that you want to be there for her.Help her to not feel so embarrassed. Is she on antibiotics? If so,they can cause a yeast infection and it is so easy to treat it's pathetic. Is it iching, burning when she urinates....these are all signs of an infection and her body is telling her to go see a doctor!

Bacterial Vaginitis - can only leave with antibiotic cream. No big deal, takes a couple of days to leave once you get the prescription. She needs a doc, though. The odor will get worse if she doesn't get it taken care of and could lead to other things. Be supportive. She can wash all she wants, but chances are this won't go away on it's own. she may be more comfortable seeing a female doctor who has possibly experienced this herself.

Sounds like yeast...

Tell her that there is no reason to be embarassed to go to the doctor.. They see this stuff everyday and it does not phase them in the slightest. She also will have to get over it to get her "yearly" which is VERY important to her health.

If she refuses tell her to go to Walmart and get some Monistate, take it as long as it says (the 3 day kind works fine) and then after that if it is not better then go to the doctor.. These are really her only 2 options.. leaving it unseen about could cause bad problems.

She needs to see the doc and get this checked out. Also the vaginal area should NOT be washed as this is a self cleaning oriface. She should not be embarassed to see the doc this is what the doc went to school for so he could help people with problems just like hers as well as any other problems.

If the smell is fishy, that is a symptom of bacterial vaginosis. Tell her not to be embarrassed, doctors see this every day, and it will only go away with a prescription of antibiotics. You should get treated as well, because these infections are usually "shared".

You know, I have often wondered the same thing. I also wondered about our sense of taste. Of course we all taste things similar, but is it exactly the same from one person to the next? Is that why some people don't like certain foods and others do? Just thought I would throw that in there.

I know it's a little embarrassing but if she really wants the smell to go away, she would go see one and see what's up. If she can tell you about it, she can tell a doctor.

most likely BV. that's my best guess. she's going to have to go to the doctor to get rid of it. nothing is going to take it away but medication. trust me, i've had it before (a few times).
