Sometimes, yes. Sometimes when I'm really happy I get that doomed feeling because I know it won't last. Or because -- this will sound stupid -- because I feel like I'll have to "repay" for the moment of happiness somehow.

I don't think people are afraid of it, just not sure when it happens.

I agree with the guy who said to quit reading the news, but it's not all bliss to be ignorant of what's going on in the world. There's a lot of bad stuff going on around the world that will likely affect us eventually, but it's nice not to think about it for a while and to just be happy with our lives while we can.

I think the media constantly wants people to feel guilty if they are happy or prosperous. Happiness doesn't come from material gains. We have it so much better now than our parents and grandparents did, yet we're told that everything is a mess. A generation or two ago they really struggled just to stay alive and we complain if we get a hangnail.

So happiness is relative. I sometimes think people were happier when life was much simpler even if it was more difficult. It's so complicated these days that some people feel overwhelmed and that can lead to unhappiness.

Yes, I am, although I want to feel happy, I know that happiness, like everything else, never lasts, it always finds a way to end. Either in a short time or on the long run, it always ends. That's why sometimes we want to just freeze a moment in time when we are the most happiest and to make that single moment last forever, but it's not within our power and all that remains is only a good memory about that moment.

yaa! Naturally everyone is afraid of. Because the first point is, no one wants to end his/her happiness soon. So a parellel thinking goes on while enjoying the happiness itself,as to this joyful moments shall never end. So everyone enjoy the happeir moments with unhappiness hidden inside.
And more over the second point is, we had been taught to be serious in all the time not to laugh, not to jump, not to do any mischievous things in the name of joy, by our society. For example a kid is not allowed to be more joyful to make louder sounds when its parent are not in a mood. So naturally our mind assumes that happiness is not our normal mode of living and it is an occasional one with guilt-in built.

I am most of the time. Mostly because happiness never lasts for me. Something always happens (reality) that snags the happiness from under me giving me a concussion.... so I try to stay away from that emotion...

Nobody is afraid of being happy.

There is simply not much to be happy about.

Tip to start your path to happiness...
Stop watching or reading the news...
I very rarely buy a newspaper as it makes me see red everytime.

No, of course not. I love being happy, and I don't care how long it lasts. I just enjoy the moment.

I honestly think alot of people are.
I realized that most people have a harder time accepting the good stuff than they do the bad.
Happiness as a person is a choice. It really is.
