How come fords original engines where designed to run on Alcohol and that got changed .?

During the time when drugs where legal and cheaper then alcohol what happened that fords first engines that ran on Booze got adjusted to run on gas made from oil .
The people that made Booze knew that if the cars ran on Booze and it was mass produced with little pricing control and government regulation then they would be out of business .Ethonal a better fuel was just one of many things denied the people of America in order for the first special interest groups ,who's only interest is sucking the working man dry , to gain control over running America .

Hmmm... what about now? We could have Hydrogen-Hybrid cars in operation but we don't get them yet...

1. Hydrogen is very dangerous and will explode.. but now they have developed a tank that will hold it and if it gets ruptured then the hydrogen will just burn off. The tank is like a sponge that soaks up the hydrogen and releases it slowly so no explosions anymore...

2. A new method of producing large quantities of Hydrogen using a catalyst has been developed but you don't see that in the spotlight news...

3. Hybrid cars "can" be more efficient and improvements are being made every day but the USA manufacturers are way behind the curve on providing them to our market...

4. The combination of the two would DRASTICALLY reduce pollution from motor vehicles.


OK, I will concede that there are SOME applications where the Hybrid car is not a good thing.. like the ones that get WORSE gas mileage on the open highway being used for long distance traveling. (some hybrid cars get better gas mileage on highway than city, some don't )

It's very sad isn't it? There is a movie out and I haven't watched it yet. And sorry to say I can't remember the name of it either. But, it was about how General Motors had built all of these electric cars and how the oil business bought them out so that they would not go on the market. How crooked is that? Well, when all of these greedy people die, there will be someone to replace them. Greed should be printed right across our flag. What gets me - they lie and lie and lie. I don't know if there is a solution, but we need one. And until the greed for oil stops, we are screwed. No one wants to stand up and fight anymore, we as Americans just let our own Government just walk all over us. I'm an old hippie and in my prime we would stand and protest. Now, the new generations don't have time to do that or don't want to. For those who don't stand up and fight - you'll get whats coming and your not going to like it, but you can't complain then, because you did nothing to stop it. I'll get off my soap box now, but I say screw the bas***** and their bloody oil sucking machines and the money the fill their pockets with-choke on it.

Gasoline was originally a discarded byproduct of oil refinement. Alcohol is (or was) cheaper than alcohol and burns alot cooler, meaning your car will run much longer. The biggest problem is alcohol burns too hot. Wana kill your car - put alcohol in the tank!
