You are a bit young, and your level-headedness may be put in question.

Being a doorman is all about tact and diplomacy, and not being upset by insults and bad behaviour.

Being able to get stuck in and sort things out without resort to violence are far more valuable assets than the ability to punch someone's lights out.

maybe you should consider joining a security firm where you will be deployed as part of a team, to get experience.

Depends on local laws. Check around to see if it is legal.
First problem with underage door people is that you are still associated with the minor crowd and presents a problem of trust if the place doesn't know you. No one wants to get dinged for serving minors.
Second don't bring up the boxing issue you are there to promote safety not fighting. Remember Road House take it outside and then leave it there.
Third is the not so fun way-If you find a place you want to work for and get turned down, ask for a different job like busing, or stocking this at least gets you in the door and management gets to see your temperament and work ethics.

Most companys like door supervisors to be over 21.
But the best way to find out is get out there and enquire.
