it may take some time, and some creative banking! make sure you have a saving account, and can keep a few 100 in there at all times. the lender will look at that. also make sure all bills from here on out are paid, ON TIME!
It was a little over 3 yrs before i applied for a home loan. But got it the first try. Good luck with that. find a bank that will sit down, take the time and really work with you,and get the best deal/rates, ect for you too. someone you can really trust is a must

You can try it but I doubt that you can, because before you can file bankruptcy you have to be unable to pay any bills, and usually when you file a 7 you file on every thing. Then the things that you want to keep, you can reaffirm the loans. When you file a 7 you will have to file on EVERY THING. You might want to ask your attorney before you try this, it could be considered fraud. If your debt is bad enough to file bankruptcy you should not be able to buy a house. That's a BIG red flag!
