Doing your own taxes isn't hard- even when you have some deductions. As long as you have the right software then you could save yourself quite a bit of money by doing it on your own.

If it is just a standard return with no complicated deductions, I would do it on my own. There are many online websites where you can complete your taxes for free. The one I like best is www.taxact.com.
If you take it to a tax professional like H&R Block, you have to pay exorbitant preparation fees, and more likely than not you won't get any bigger of a return than you would get if you did the taxes yourself.
I usually buy TurboTax on e-Bay around this time of the year and then prepare my taxes myself. TurboTax usually has free online filing.

You are probably capable of doing your own return. H & R Block does a very good job on tax returns, but they do charge for their services. If you have no deductions or unusual tax questions, it is best to sit down, with a calculator abd follow the instructions for the form.

IT has noting to due with patriotism, patriots would never allow their country men to subjigated to an unfair tax system where the 40% of the populas dosnt pay taxes, and the rest is taxed at 35% their income. Make it fair one taxe rate for all and I bet they wont keep it off shore any more. By the way benighted folks like yourself shouldbe resticted from participation in any federal or state voting issues.

There is a website called taxact.com there you can use the website to do your taxes for free, you use turbotax which just asks you questions and fills it all in for you and you get the money back within a week or two if you have it automatically deposited.

If you make under about $40K a year, you would be eligible to have your taxes done at no charge by a trained VITA volunteer. See IRS.gov to find a site near you - type "VITA" into the search box.

Depends your country.
I know in Canada, that Revenue Canada looks more closely at returns filed by H and R block because my friend used to screen returns.
If you tax form is standard, probably better to it yourself.

If you have no deductions, then do it yourself. When going to someone else to have your taxes done, there is a fee involved.

It is cheaper to do it on your own. You wont have to pay the tax person. Go to www.irs.gov, and there are links to free tax preperation websites. Thats how I file mine. I never have to pay, and they can directly deposit them in my account. You get them quick.
