Try structureing your study schedule. Plan to take 10 or 15 minute breaks every 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours. Rest improves productivity. The sensation of stress can be induced by poor posture while seated which compresses the lungs and promotes rapid shallow breathing. This increases the proportion of oxygen to carbon dioxide in the blood. The brain reads this as hyperoxygenating the muscles to prepare to fight or flee a danger. This activates a fear response which makes it more difficult to think clearly. As our emotions increase clear thinking decreases.

When you have the feeling of stress try a relaxation response. 1. Place your hand over your belly button while sitting back in your chair. Use your stomach muscles to expand your belly. Your hand should rise. Inhale while doing this very, very slowly to a count of 5 mississippi. When you've reach maximum expansion of your belly hold your breath for a beat then exhale very, very slowly to a count of five mississippi. Exhaling is an act of relaxing here. The osmotic pressure of the air will collapse your lungs without any force. Repeat this process at least 5 times. If your fingers get tingly or you feel dizzy you're going too fast. Slow way down.2. While doing this do a tension check. Notice where you carry muscle tension in your body and direct that muscle group to relax. 3. Consciously give yourself a relaxing affirmation- I'm feeling calm, tranquil and relaxed. Everything's OK.

A relaxation response is a skill like riding a bicycle. If the only time you do it is when you want to get somewhere you won't get there. But, if you practice ahead of time you will. Practicing a relaxation response when you go to bed and when you wake up is a good idea because your ribs are distended and you can get maximum lung expansion. Don't breath from your chest- breath from your belly.

Also, perfectionistic and catastrophic thinking can cause alot of stress. Try taking a learning perspective rather than a goal perspective. A learning perspective is trying to find out what's interesting in what you're doing. A goal perspective is trying to get an A. You can't control what grade you get. You can only control the effort you make. Much of what is stressful in life is a result of trying to control the actions of others. We don't have that power. We can only control ourselves. Our actions don't ensure any particular result. But they do make it more likely. If we find what's interesting then it's more enjoyable. We tend to do what we enjoy better.
Good luck. Sorry for the long advise.

bypass out ON my back patio, have a smoke, and examine a financial disaster or 2 of my contemporary favorite sci-fi / delusion novels. Or wait till my spouse and son bypass to mattress, then take a seat up for a pair hours and play video games. the superb thank you to handle rigidity is to do something which you rejoice with or relaxes you - no rely what it would desire to be. And if somebody bugs you once you're relaxing, tell them to bypass away, you're de-stressing, yet while they persist, then you definately would would desire to locate a sparkling spot the place no person will difficulty you for as long because it takes to do away with the stress.

I know what it feels like to want to give up when studying gets frustrating. When that happens, what helps me is to take a break and do something else. If I'm that frustrated, it won't help me at all to try to force myself to keep studying, I won't learn anything anyway. Try going for a walk or jog, or maybe take a shower. Even just getting up and doing a couple jumping-jacks can be enough of a break sometimes. But whatever it is you do, remember to get back to studying when you're done. Chances are, you'll be more focused and absorb more of what you're trying to learn.

Many folks will post up the most common ways to deal with stress.
But I have a very creative idea for ya, infact it works for me so much I have to share it with you.....
you know those cd's you can get at Barnes-n-Noble for self enrichment, self-deveopment and RELAXATION?
They work so well!! I like to listen to them laying on the bed, sometimes when I'm driving (I don't recommend tho, coz they can make you real relaxed) :-)
For example, the (2) I'm currently listening to are: 101 power thoughts by Louise Hay. The other was a cd in the back of a book I bought called "Alchemy of Abundance".
anyway, take a look at their selection in bNn......or you can buy some on amazon. com
*they are pretty effective I must say
