No, because you could have found the receipt. You have no proof but your word. The bank will only refund the money to who ever the accounts name is in. People have others deposit money into their accounts all of the time. If you try and draw it out, they will ask for your I.D. and if you are not that person, receipt or no receipt, you can not get your money back. You can go to a bank officer and ask, but I am 99% sure that you can't get it back. Only the person who has the account can, UNLESS you have a withdrawal receipt, which are usually in the front of the bank. YOU CAN TRY and see doing it that way! It just might work! But I would ask a bank officer first before you try it. It is some one else's account and you'd have to sign their name and that's FRAUD!
Good Luck!

Well if it's recorded on your online statement, print it out and take it to the bank. That's your only proof that you did deposit the amount. Electronically it was recorded, and that should be proof enough. But the bank will make you jump through lots of hoops in order to give you credit for the deposit. What you did was so contrary to the protocol of making a deposit that the bank might think some kind of scam is going on. You'll be lucky to get credit for it, because what you did was so crazy and irresponsible.

Crazy isnt it? But I truely dont think you can withdraw in any country if you dont have the pass word etc. I believe however if you point out that it was a mistake( I hope it was a mistake and you werent just using someone's account) and sit at the desk with the bank representative and wait while they check things out they will probably do the reversile. I also hope that the account that you wanted to put the money into is very similar to the one you actually put the money into.

The bank doesn't care who deposits money, but only a signer on the account can withdrawal from the account.

I can't be positively sure, but I don't think so. The only way to reverse it is to withdraw it from the account. From what you said, its someone elses account, tell the person to withdraw it for you.

I don't think so. But you can try telling them you put the cash in the wrong account and see what they say.

No. That would be a cash withdrawal. You can only do that if your name is on the account.
