You know, all these lists on the internetz, blogs, polls, only really show you what is the Most Popular, not "The Best." I'm happy you are enthusiastic about a particular piece of music, but your question is actually not at all answerable. Which classical piece, and from which era? Try and pick just one each from the thousands from the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Modern, or Contemporary -- well, good luck with THAT! While each era has its stylistic trademarks, and a general feeling from the mentality of the era, is there anyway to compare a "Best of" from the Renaissance against a "Best of" from the late romantic era? No :-) Best regards. P.s. Your varied tastes are noted. Your opinion, or your favorites, is not going to change the definition of a genre, however, nor influence what the books written by music historians and scholars list as the more important composers and works form music literature. Film scores are another genre from classical, and are not, technically, classical music at all. They're more in a realm of their own, "Film Music" and are often a form of symphonic pop. You can not have any 'equal' criteria with which to judge a film score, 20th or 21st century, against a medieval piece of music.

Dat's whassup.. I need to download all of these dittys.
Check out either "Punch Drunk" by Sade.. or the "Love Theme" from Romeo & Juliet. The latter is a classical piano piece, while the former is mellow, red wine type of groove.
and if that's your type of thing, check out "Dance of the Infidel" by Me'Shell N'degeoCello. It's her first jazz album and a guaranteed groove getter.
hope this helps...

I would pick Chung Kuo by Vangelis but that is really because it was the background music to possibly my favourite TV advert by Akai.
But i think it is also a nice song.
