Yes, I believe in Spirits, ghosts, and such. When you live near Gettysburg and grow up around areas where there were great battles or even living in old homes built back when this country was first founded, you tend to believe that some spirits and ghosts stay behind, and dwell with the living. That is those spirits and ghosts who have had an experience in life that was either terrifying or traumatic, that it keeps them here with us on Earth instead of moving on to the afterlife.

When scientists wrote in a recent issue of the journal Nature that they could induce phantom effects — the sensation of being haunted by a shadowy figure — by stimulating the brain with electricity, it made perfect neurological sense. One could even argue that the existence of such sensations explains away the so-called supernatural. In fact, as The Times reported, the researchers promptly concluded that ghosts are mere "bodily delusions," electrical misfirings and nothing more.

But the sad thing is that for many people it's a world more interesting — bigger, stranger, more mysterious — than the one offered by science. Why choose instead to be creatures of chemical impulse and electrical twitch? When some would rather delude themselves that we are something more.

My father always told me to leave the door open when it came to new thoughts. I always try to remember that and apply it and look things over very carefully if they are different or not understandable. Everyone accepts the idea of women's intuition. Is it not a form of ESP? Haven't you ever sensed what someone was going to do or when they were going to show up or who was on the phone? Was it a good guess? I like to go to sleep with a problem that needs solving and when I wake up I know the answer. Did I solve it in my sleep or where did the answer come from? There is more to humans than meets the eye and practice makes perfect. Pay attention and you will be amazed at what you can do.

The paranormal is a false or pseudo-science. There is really nothing to study.
Every double blind test on ESP, telepathy, telekinesis, and all the rest, have not shown one iota of evidence of their existence.
Uri Geller was a fake, just like all those before him.
If you're truly fascinated in the unknown, delve into ancient history. The truth is always stranger than fiction.

No, I have never seen with my own eyes an example of the paranormal. I think there are many unknown and unknowable things. But most things 'paranormal' are just fiction.

i believe in such things...maybe not in the exact forms you listed, but i think that there is something out there...there has to be something. I've had strange "ghost like" encounters (things falling, things brushing against my shoulder, just small things that i usually ignore)

i think if you rule out believing in god, then you rule out believing in things liek ghosts aswell. im not comparing god to a ghost but surely if you can stste that an overall power doesnt exist, then you cant state that something like a visible and trapped spirit can exist.... its even confusing me now so ill leave it there lol
hope it helps

not something paranormal, from demons to psychic powers, have ever been shown to exist. sounds like your loved ones has a heritage of superstition, and not something greater. desires are not actual, and you and your mom have been the two dreaming. Did you watch a frightening action picture earlier going to mattress?

No such thing as ghosts. The jury is still out on ESP and the others.
