I've had T-Mobile, Cingular and Verizon... Verizon made me mad when they told me I could by a new phone at the sale price in a couple of months, then when I went back to buy it they said I would have to pay full price. T-Mobile I bought a second phone for my girlfriend out of state and clarified that she could use it where she was located without roaming charges... Then when she used it I was charged roaming . When I asked about it they said it wasn't roaming charges because they don't charge roaming, it was a charge for using someone else's tower... sounds like roaming to me.
I am with Cingular now and have been happy with the service and call quality.

I had T-mobile and I hated them. I would always have drop calls. A friend and I would have to call each other back 5 times just to finish what needed to be said. We even time it on how long it would take for it to drop us.
I also bought a cell phone from over the Internet through T-Mobile and when I got it it didn't work right, I talk to customer service and I had to send it back. The phone cost $250. They didn't replace the phone or refund the money. That said they never got the package, they even told me to go collect the insurance from the post office but I had proof that they sign for the package so I couldn't collect any loss. After the run around with this whole deal I dump their service.
They had nothing but drop call problems and you couldn't even use their service at my brothers house. you had to go out side of his house to use the phone for midi-okra service.
I went to Cingular and so did all 5 of my folks. We haven't had a problem and very rare do we have drop calls.

Verizon. Large variety of phones and plans. Best coast to coast coverage. Best in overall customer service and satisfaction. Best in price. I know because my two year contract is just about up and I'm either renewing it or getting a new single line plan with Verizon. Sure cingular has good phones and plans and the rollover minutes but not the coverage and when you like me live in rural america we need the coverage and here only verizon has that. Sprint well they have the 7pm night and weekend minutes but no rollover, no free incomming calls and not as good of coverage. Get a company that has all the features of each and well we'd all have it made. Hopefully for the same or less price too.

Having worked for two of the cell phone companies I would have to say it all depends on the features of the phones and what and where you plan to use your phone. It also depends on the customer service you receive from the companies. Tmobile has won numerous J.D. Powers awards for customer service. Cingular and T-Mobile also allow their customers to share towers. All of the companies listed are trying to stay competitive. Sprint has poor customer service in my opinion. I don't like the fact that Verizon doesn't use SIM cards. My recommendation would be either T-Mobile or Cingular.

You have to do research on all of them, and see what ones has the best plan for you, I would go to a mall and get pamphlets on all of them. But from my expeiernce I have had all but Sprint..If u are going to talk alot then I would get tmobile because they have the most minutes for the cheapest, like 1000 for and you can get unlimited text messaging for cheap to any carrier, and I have always had good reception, and hardly any dropped calls, even when I took it to west virgina it worked and my sisters Verizon phone didn't even get reception...cingular just sucks I think, i always had calls just hang up on me, and didn't like there customer service. I know some people with sprint, it doesn't seem to get very good reception, but they do have some good plans that aren't to expensive...so overall id go with tmobile..hope this helps!!

I've been with Cingular, but I'll switch soon because its customer service is bad. The reception and equipment are OK, but it's difficult to get a complaint resolved.

I personally have Sprint, and I really do not like it. Signal is often weak.
T-Mobile, from what I hear, is good. They have some exclusive phones, such as the Sidekick.
Verizon is what a lot of people I know have, and they have said nothing but good things.Their phone selection is great.
Cingular has exclusive phones as well, with iTunes-compatibility, but their service is not great.
In conclusion, I would get Verizon. Hope this helps.

i've got had sprint and Verizon. I have been given extra helpful reception from sprint and that i've got in no way had a dropped call from them the two. yet their client help sucks. They charged me $2 hundred for ring tones and video downloads that I in no way ordered. for that reason I %. Verizon.
